A while back I was between jobs. I had years of product experience, a reasonable LinkedIn profile, and absolutely no idea how to write a resume that didn't feel like a boring HR form.

I tried every tool I could find. Some required a monthly subscription just to export. Others had such rigid templates that they erased any personality from your work history. A few "AI resume builders" essentially just asked me to fill in the same form fields, then spit them back out in a slightly different font.

What I actually needed was something that could look at what I'd done — my real work, in my own words — and help me describe it the way a great hiring manager would want to read it. Not paraphrase it. Not clean up the grammar. Actually understand it and surface the right signal.

I couldn't find that tool, so I built it. ResumeTailor started as a script I ran on my own resume. It's now a real product: 36 one-page templates, AI generation, JD matching, one-click translation, interview prep, and free PDF export. I still work on it nights and weekends, and I still think about that job search every time I ship something new.

The full AI generation experience, visual editor, and template switching are free because those are the things that actually help you. I don't want the paywall to be in the way of building a good resume.

The paid features — watermark-free exports, premium templates, unlimited AI polishing — exist because running good LLM infrastructure costs real money. I'd rather charge a small one-time fee to the users who get the most value than plaster the product with ads or sell your data.

There's no auto-renewal because I hate auto-renewals. You pay for the period you want, it expires, you decide if it was worth it. That's it.

I need revenue to keep improving this. That's the honest answer.
